Trump Peace deal

Trump just keeps making the impossible possible and he’s making it look easy.  Today, on Columbus Day, Trump announced from the Middle East, “The hostages are free.”  It is one of the biggest victories for an American President I can remember.  The only thing that comes close was Ronald Reagan’s successful plea to Russian president Mikhail Gorbachev, “Mr. Gorbachev tear down these walls.”  Gorbachev eventually acquiesced.  However, one might argue Trump brokering peace in the Middle East was a lot more difficult.  First of all, Trump was negotiating with known terrorist groups.

There has been conflict in the Middle East for my entire lifetime.  During this recent political era, specifically the era Trump has presided over, the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas looked depressing at best. The hostages that snatched at that concert were barely mentioned during the Biden administration.  Trump would not stop talking about them.  Getting the hostages released seemed to consume Trump.  He spoke about it constantly.  He had special envoy Steve Witcoff working on it overtime.  Trump directly praised Marco Rubio and Steve Witcoff during his immediate remarks when announcing the miracle.  Of Marco Rubio, Trump said Rubio will probably go down as the best Secretary of State in the history of America.  Trump then congratulated Steve Witcoff and thanked him for all of his fantastic work to help free the hostages.  Trump being Trump lightheartedly said Witcoff was better than Henry Kissinger because Witcoff operates in stealth mode. There are never any “leaks” when Steve Witcoff is leading negotiations. Kissinger’s best efforts were plagued with leaks.  Guess what 47 hates?  Leaks.

To watch the former hostages collapse into the arms of family and friends was simply amazing to witness.  I found it very emotional.  Hostages and their families embraced, cried, screamed, and celebrated.  Older relatives greeting their respective people embraced them like they were hugging someone they had been certain they were never going to see again.  It was powerful tv.  The impossible was suddenly Mission Accomplished. The Israeli hostages are finally free.  Families were thanking Trump.  Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared Trump a hero to the nation of Israel. Snot-nosed journalists like Christiane Amanpour could not get out of their own way.  They hate Trump that much.  20 living Israeli hostages walk free.  Amanpour claimed the hostages may have been treated better than Gazans because Hamas needed them for leverage over Israel during negations. ‘It’s been a terrible, terrible two years for them, because not only are they there, they’re probably being treated better than the average Gazan’ Amanpour said live on air. ‘Because they (the Israeli hostages) are the pawns and the chips that Hamas had.’  The social media backlash was swift and aggressive.  Amanpour issued a long apology on X.  Basically, she was forced to admit her comments were ‘insensitive’ and ‘wrong’.  She finally read the room and added she was ‘horrified at what Hamas has subjected them to over two long years.’  Unbelievable.  Critics slammed her.  Amanpour found herself no longer a media darling and was slapped with labels like “terror enabler’ and ‘a horrible human.’

I wonder where all of the Free Palestine Protestors are now that 47 has actually enacted peace in the Middle East.   They’re probably crying in their Cheerios.  Why is this president torturing us?  Get over it cupcake.  You have absolutely no idea what torture really is, just ask one of the 20 hostages. Their family members would probably want to slap you, if they weren’t so darn peaceful.
